๐ Team BTF: Beginning a New Chapter ๐
Last month, The Blue Tree Foundation (BTF) held the inauguration ceremony for its new CEO, marking not just a leadership transition, but also the beginning of a new chapter for the foundation.
ย
What began 31 years ago from one fatherโs grief has grown into Koreaโs leading NGO dedicated to preventing school and cyber violence and advancing a culture of nonviolence. This moment was especially meaningful as it reflected both continuity and change: honoring BTFโs founding values while setting a renewed direction for the future ๐ฑ๐ณ
ย
A particularly symbolic moment of the ceremony was the handover of the foundation flag from Honorary Chairman Jong-ki Kim to the newly appointed CEO, Jong Ik Lee. As a leader who has dedicated 22 years to BTF, his appointment represents not only internal leadership development, but also the organizational maturity and sustainability BTF has built over time. Under the shared identity of โTEAM BTFโ, staff from across the foundation and its affiliated centers came together around a common commitment: to continue building a safer, more peaceful world for youth.
ย
In his inaugural address, CEO Jong Ik Lee presented four key strategic directions for BTFโs future:
โ๏ธ A hyperconnected global engine: expanding AI-hybrid counseling and data-driven policy research
โ๏ธ An ESG-oriented NGO model: strengthening social value measurement and sustainable growth
โ๏ธ โCharacterโ as a core competency in the AI era: integrating education and technology for global digital education and youth leadership
โ๏ธ A thriving community of people and practice: building a healthier workplace and stronger grassroots partnerships
ย
BTF will continue to be a steady, supportive presence โ working toward a future where every youth can live, grow, and thrive free from violence ๐
